What is Anthroposophic Medicine?

Anthroposophic medicine combines the capabilities of scientific medicine with the investigative methodology and practical application of anthroposophy. Its integrative and holistic approach to health science is focused on the individual human being with his physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Diagnosis and treatment are informed by respect for each person’s autonomy and dignity – including those who require special physical or mental support.

Scientific studies demonstrate the efficacy of treatment, patient satisfaction, the lack of side effects from medicines and the economic viability of this approach for the public health system (2006 HTA report by the Swiss health ministry).

Today medicine is more than ever dependent on social commitment in collaboration with:

  • Educators: “How can education promote health?”
  • Farmers: “What can be done to promote the health of the soil and foods?”
  • Non-governmental organizations and government au-thorities that are open to new ideas for a “healthy health system”.
