Constitution

The Constitution of the Foundation for Anthroposophic Medicine was approved on the 26th May 2003 in Basel, Switzerland. Amongst the articles of the Constitution is Article 2:

Article 2 Purpose

The foundation's purpose is to support the local and international work of the Medical Section (Medizinische Sektion) at Goetheanum[1].

This work includes:

  • research and development of anthroposophical therapies (including medicine, patient care, art therapy, curative education, therapeutic eurythmy, pharmacy) and the grant of scholarships and loans for researchers and trainees who can demonstrate a commitment to furthering anthroposophical therapies;
  • communication and promotion of co-operation on site in Dornach, but also among the employees of the anthroposophical medicine movement worldwide;
  • supporting facilities and institutes that practice anthroposophical medicine or therapies, particularly in non-European countries;
  • supporting public relations work, representing anthroposophical medicine in the public sphere and taking any measures that become necessary to establish a secure legal basis for, or legal certainty with respect to, therapeutic freedom and anthroposophical therapies.

This list of purposes give a wide area of interest for the Foundation to pursue where possible, when and if resources are available.We encourage as many as possible to join the Circle of Friends to ensure you are kept updated on developments and projects of the Foundation.

[1] A building in Dornach designed by Rudolph Steiner which is home to the Allgemeine Anthroposophische Gesellschaft (General Anthroposophical Society).
