International Postgraduate Medical Training (IPMT) The International Postgraduate Medical Training (IPMT) was initiated in 2002 by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum for those countries which did not have such a medical training available. The trainings are given in one week blocks for successive five years, and the outcome for medical practitioners who have met the training criteria fo additional self study and a mentoring programme, is an international certificate of anthroposophic medicine. (More information). Download the 2009 IPMT Program Dr Glöckler is the director of this programme and she travels to each country. Dr Glöckler and the IPMT co-ordinator, Stefan Langhammer, collect together appropriate facilitators according to the programme, the needs of the country and the availability of the facilitators. The Medical Section must seek funding each year for the support of these strong outreach opportunities, and is grateful for the existing major sponsors. However, the demand for the programmes has been surprisingly high, and the need for financial support accordingly grows. This is particularly so in the developing countries, with income poor participants. In 2007 there were 10 different trainings, with over 600 participants in total. Each country seeks to fund the local expenses and the Medical Section seeks sponsorship for all external costs such as foreign travel and resource costs. Facilitators and mentors gift their time, however this may not be a sustainable situation. The Medical Section manages the administration of the courses and the mentor programmes. The Foundation seeks to support the training programmes, and the growth of these programmes as an integral aspect for the development of anthroposophic medicine worldwide. Contact: Stefan Langhammer
